In 2023, the Royal Commission for AlUla hosted the United Nations World Tourism Organization’s “Best Tourism Village Awards” to highlight those villages where tourism preserves cultures and traditions, celebrates diversity and provides opportunities.
The culmination of this is a three-day program of activities for 300 delegates from all over the world, taking place in AlUla (the host village).
Our mission was to showcase the very best of Saudi culture, tradition and hospitality whilst also driving engagement and ideas sharing with other participating villages. The 2 day program included tours of historic areas in AlUla, an awards ceremony at the iconic Maraya, a dinner for 300 guests, cultural performances and a networking conference.
